Team photos from yesteryear
Team photo showing H D Rankin back left and Harold Rankin back right, F Meeson is the umpire and Nicholls and A Squier also present.
1908 team photo
One of the annual Mill v Farm games from the 60's when Mottram Rankin captained the Farm and Patrick the Mill. Donald Rankin and Bill Chamberlain are the umpires and David Thomas also features in the front row.
Match Unknown - Harold Rankin and Frank Meeson were two of the stalwarts of the club at that time which was then known as Rochford CC.
Cricket only resumed at Broomhills in 1919 so this was one of the first teams to be fielded.
Although there is no date on this photo we believe it to be a little earlier than the dated 1908 photo and so this is the earliest known team photo of a Rochford/Rankins side.
Team photo believed to have been taken at King George VI playing fields in Rayleigh.
It is believed that this photo of both teams is from the August Bank Holiday fixture - there were many players in the Westcliff team who also regularly featured for H D Rankin's XI on Sundays.
The fixture to which this picture relates has not yet been identified. It is likely to have been a Bank Holiday game against Westcliff 1st XI in the late 50s or early 60's
