The Rivermaidens have made a positive start to their Essex South Indoor Softball League campaign this winter, showing steady improvement as the competition has progressed.
Indoor cricket offers a great opportunity to sharpen skills during the winter months and the team has grown in confidence with every match. A recent highlight came with the Rivermaidens securing their first win of the indoor season with a 63–36 victory over Benfleet, a fantastic result and a real boost for the squad.
Beyond the results, the indoor league has been a valuable opportunity for players to build partnerships, develop match awareness and prepare for the outdoor season ahead.
The Rivermaidens are always keen to welcome new players, whether you’re completely new to cricket or returning to the game after some time away.
Bring a friend and give cricket a try
Anyone interested in getting involved is invited to attend the upcoming Rivermaidens in the Making: Bring a Friend nets session on 1 April, which will be run in partnership with Essex Cricket’s Senior Manager of Female Participation, Lauren Onojaife.
It will be a relaxed and welcoming session designed for women and girls who would like to try cricket for the first time or get back into the game.
