With the new cricket season approaching, Rankin’s Cricket Club will be taking part in the ECB’s Get Set Weekend, when clubs across the country come together to prepare their grounds and facilities for the year ahead.
This year’s event will take place on:
- Saturday 28 March
- Sunday 29 March
Club committee volunteers and players Ange (Rivermaidens) and Darel (1st XI), who is also Head Groundsman, will be at the club between 10am and 2pm on both days to help coordinate the work and support anyone who is able to lend a hand.
There are always plenty of jobs to tackle, from tidying the pavilion and preparing equipment to general maintenance tasks around the ground. Many hands make light work and it’s a great way to help get the club ready for the new season.
A list of jobs has already been prepared and we are asking volunteers to complete a quick online form to register their interest, which will help the club plan the work and prioritise tasks on the day.
